Privacy policy

Effective July 22, 2026

This policy explains what AppScouter collects, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

If you create an account, we collect the account details you provide, such as your name and email address. We also store saved views, filter preferences, and other product settings you choose to save.

When you purchase access, Stripe processes your payment details. AppScouter stores transaction and subscription identifiers, payment and subscription status, the checkout email, and the verified email used to claim access. We do not store full card numbers.

We may collect basic technical and usage information, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, request logs, and error diagnostics needed to secure, operate, and improve AppScouter.

When you arrive from Meta (Facebook/Instagram) or TikTok ads, or we measure advertising performance, we and those platforms may process advertising identifiers and conversion events (for example page views, checkout starts, and purchases). That measurement can use browser tags and server-side conversion events, including hashed contact details and technical identifiers such as cookie IDs, click IDs, IP address, and user agent.

2. App market data

AppScouter processes public and licensed information about mobile applications, including store metadata, rankings, release dates, and third-party estimates. This market data describes apps and publishers; it is not collected from your private app-store account.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide accounts and saved views, operate and secure the service, respond to support requests, understand product usage, improve AppScouter, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your saved research to advertise to other AppScouter users.

4. How information is shared

We may share limited information with infrastructure, hosting, authentication, payment, transactional-email, analytics, advertising, and support providers that process data on our behalf. Stripe processes payments, Resend delivers access emails, and Meta and/or TikTok may receive conversion and advertising measurement data when those ads or measurement tools are enabled. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.

5. Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information, subject to applicable law and necessary legal retention. You can also remove saved views directly in the product.

Browser settings can control cookies and similar storage, although disabling essential storage may prevent account features from working. You can also use platform tools such as Meta’s or TikTok’s ad preferences and industry opt-out mechanisms to limit interest-based advertising where available.

7. Children and international use

AppScouter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you use AppScouter outside the country where its infrastructure is located, your information may be processed across borders under applicable safeguards.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.

Privacy questions or requests can be sent through the support contact published in the AppScouter product.
